Every year the birds and the Monarch butterflies fly south for the winter. Why shouldn't we? (Birds of a feather, right?) Join Peak to Peak Paragliding in the winter of 2007 for a paragliding adventure to sunny Mexico. While the cold winter winds are blowing hard over the Rocky Mountains, you could be sipping Margaritas in the LZ on the lakeshore in shorts after a long day of flying in beautiful Valle de Bravo, Mexico. This destination flying spot is visited by pilots from all around the world because of its incredible beauty and consistent flying conditions. Come for one or both weeks.

Enjoy consistent good summer-like flying in Valle de Bravo. Wonderful thermals and excellent cross-country potential are the norm at this site. Conditions are appropriate for a broad variety of skill levels, however a P2 rating (minimum) is recommended. We will be providing instruction in thermalling, cross country flight and active flying.

Valle de Bravo is a beautiful alpine resort area about two hours outside of Mexico City. It features two major flying sites: La Torre, a scenic lakeside ridge/thermal site right above town where you land along the lake-side, and El Penon, a major thermal/xc location with potential for excellent flights from big thermal flying to fantastic glass offs. The village of Valle has many things to offer, from fine dining establishments to spectacular vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains. Walk around the cobble-stoned streets at night shopping at the town square and fine shops. The Monarch Butterflies migrate seasonally to a nearby mountain. You can spend an afternoon after flying riding horses up the mountain to view the millions of butterflies, or going to view the nearby Nevada de Toluca volcano. The butterflies are truly a sight to behold and make this magical place even more special. Special trips to fly the volcano can also be arranged at an additional cost.

Each Trip Includes:

• Transportation (to and from Mexico City Airport)

• Rides to launch & XC retrieves

Cost:

• $1800 for a complete one-week tour (assumes 2-person occupancy).
• $3000 for the full two-week stay (assumes 2-person occupancy).
• Single occupancy runs $475 more per week.
• An $800 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot.
• Payment in full due by November 30th, 2006.
• Please note that all deposits and trip payments are non-refundable.

Schedule, first week (December 31-January 7):

• Fly to Mexico City on Sunday, December 31, 2006. Plan flights for arrival by mid-afternoon
• Meet at driver at Mexico City Airport. Drive to Valle.
• Fly Valle from Monday through Saturday.
• OR we may drive to another nearby site the last day to fly over the volcanoes & visit the ancient ruins.
• Return to Mexico City on Sunday, January 7th to fly home. Plan flights for departure after noon

Schedule, second week (January 7-January 14):

• Fly to Mexico City on Sunday January 7, 2007. Plan flights for arrival by mid-afternoon.
• Meet driver at Mexico City Airport. Drive to Valle.
• Fly Valle from Monday through Saturday.
• OR we may drive to another nearby site the last day to fly over the volcanoes & visit the ancient ruins.
• Return to Mexico City on Sunday, January 14th to fly home. Plan flights for departure after noon.

How do I sign up?
Please send a non-refundable deposit of $800 to hold your spot. This popular trip will fill quickly. Payment in full is due by November 30th, 2006. Also, please mail a signed copy of Peak to Peak's Policies & Warranties and Waiver (forms are in PDF format) with your deposit.
